Hi David N All !

In relation to your "backburner" idea, i'd urge anyone intrested in 
mechanics and noise to check out the work of the swiss sculptor 
Tinguely .  (Unfortunateley now deceased, married to Nikki de Saint-
Phalle (sp?), another sculptor of note, but i really digress here)

Created a large number of objects, fixed installations and noise 
orchestras .  The biggest one i witnessed was about 6m long and 4m 
high, and produced a mindblowing symphony of noise .
