Hey all,

Long time, no post :)

Dear all,

I just inhereted some valves, numbers in brackets are quantities.

  12BH7A (16), 6SN7GT (4), ECC82 (10), 6SL7GT (2), 6SN7GTB (1)

What are they? they are all brandnew in boxes still. Are these any good
for anything?

You have inherited a set of very nice audio tubes. All of these types are
in steady use today... First, they are all low to moderate mu dual triodes.
The 6SN7GT and 6SN7GTB are virtually identical, and perhaps the best
overall sounding audio triode in common production. The 6SL7GT is a
higher-mu (gain) version of the 6SN7GT.

The 12BH7A is essentially a 9-pin miniature version of the 6SN7GT, so they
can be thought of as functional equivalents, allthough the larger GT style
tubes have a slightly higher plate dissipation rating.

The ECC82 is more commonly known as a 12AU7; yet another venerable audio
type. Curiously enough, the ECC82 is also very closely related to the
6SN7/12BH7. An ECC82 can roughly be thought of as a 12BH7 with 1/2 the
transconductance, but the same mu. If you look inside the ECC82, it is
appears as a half-height 12BH7...

Let me know if you need more info, or data sheets on these types.
