The language of Power Glove

Dave -- I went through a Power Glove phase several years ago when I
found one for about $10 at Toys 'R Us. Never really did much with it,
but I can point you in a few directions:

> how would I connect the glove to a
> Macintosh, serial or USB
> or what ever.

http://www.acm.uiuc.edu/sigarch/pgsi/pgsifaq.html
is a faq for a Glove serial interface that will work with a Mac.

http://www.spies.com/jet/VR/faq-0.3_toc.html
is a general faq for the Glove, including lots of resources -- some out
of date.

http://www.cms.dmu.ac.uk/~cph/pg.html
is a basic introduction to the Glove.

I know the data that comes out of the Glove doesn't fall under standard
protocols, but if you can get serial out of it...

My big problem was its design -- in just a few minutes my arm would be
aching!

BTW -- I'm new to the list. Haven't really Done It Myself in a long
time, but I'm thinking of selling a pretty large PAiA synth, if
anyone's interested. Many years ago I designed and built trumpet and
sax controllers for the synth -- wrote 'em up in Polyphony.
Even worked at PAiA for a semester while I interned at a nearby TV
station. Great company. John's a good friend.
