If this is the same item I'm thinking of, it possibly came out later 
than than as I recall having one in the 1980's. It does look really 
retro - maybe I got it at a garage sale or something.... The "circuit 
board" is the box it came in, with spring loaded terminals stuck 
through, battery power and a buzz source. I seem to recall adding in 
CD4066 switches to play around with the formants under computer 
(Altair 680 !) control.
