ODP: 128 or 256-stage FIR Filter Chip

Ages ago (like 5 years?) Motorola made a few, but don't remember
the part number. I can find out if you like.
There is one company specializing in those things running
at heavy MHz, but again I don't remeber it's name (too much beer and
cellphone).
I once saw a picture of old military project chip using *analog*
implementation
of FIR running at few GHz!
How fast is it to be working?
Would you consider DSP? It might be cheaper.
