Hi,

I've been trying to get through Craig Anderton's book, "Electronic Projects
for Musicians", and I am having problems with getting parts that match this
20 year old book. The main problem I am having is with the omnipresent
4739, which is no longer around. Is there a pin-for-pin replacement? I
aquired some tl072 dual low-noize op-amps, but they are 8 pin rather than 14
pin, does anyone know how to use the new in the old one's place? I do have
a pin-out diagram for the 072 (not for the 4739), but as someone who was
hoping to learn about electronics from this book, it doesn't help me that
much.

Alternatively, does anyone have/know of some schematics for a mixer,
compressor, tone control and overdrive/pre-amp with modern components? I'm
trying to build a number of additions to my paia fatman, studio, and busking
rig, and these would be very useful right now.

Thanks,
dylan
