Hello everyone.
I'm new to the synth diy field as well as this mailing list. I just
wanted to introduce myself and would appreciate any others who might do
the same. I was on the list yesterday using my own e-mail account but
found that it was difficult to sort out my mail from the diy mail. The
first day i received 46 messages! So i created this account for synth
discussion. But i ended up reading about 90% of the letters i received
on my other e-mail account. So some of the names and where they live are
already familiar to me. Stuff about me:
I'm 20 years old living in Rock Island, IL (bordering IA) and
attending Black hawk college studying music. Originally, I was studying
to be an electrical engineer, but found it more interesting to study
music in school and anything else on the side. I've already done some
other diy projects like a phone headset. I'm not without
circuitry/soldering experience. I studied a year of electronics in high
school. I play any instrument i can get my hands on and have about as
broad a musical taste.
Anyway, i usually sound really stiff on first time letters or
when i start to talk about myself so please excuse that. :-) I have a
particular interest in Moogs. I've been doing a lot of research on them
especially the minimoog, prodigy and the rogue with the hopes of one day
building one of them. Any information pertaining to the circuit board
layout, parts lists/distributors, virtually anything technical about them
would be greatly appreciated.
Also, i'm having a hard time getting a hold of any moog. I'd
like to play around with some. My knowledge/experience with old analogs
is pretty limited. I guess i'm summing it up by saying, i'm here to
learn. :-)
If anyone is remotely close to my area, let me know. I'd like to
get together with someone with some diy experience.
	Until i hear a reply.....God bless everyone.

Jason Stephens

PS I vote Chicago. It's the closest to me. --just came back from
