Synth diy Convention?

I recently went to a similar gathering that had beed organized by some
great folks on AH. The concept there was for regional type meeting were
people would only travel a few hours at most with perhaps one overnight
stay. Another advanatge of a regional approach is a smaller group. I met
a lot of great guys and had a good time. The person who hosted the event
was a teacher and had use of the school auditorium for the gathering. This
was cool as there was too much gear for someone's home.

The keys to success of the even I attended were good organization and up
front communications. There was a real variety of gear since we knew what
some others were bringing, there was no duplication.

The host took digital photos and posted them at his web site. The whole
thing was great fun. Semi-organized performances were part of the plan.
Arrangements were made for someone to run out for pizza and sandwiches and
such.

So, mu suggestion if eomone wants to host such an event is to arrange for a
location and solicit "regional attendance" and see how many people might be
interested in that common location. My AH experience was positive and I
would certainly be interested in a similar diy experience.
