I use EasyTrax for schematics and pcb layout. It's absolutely free. If
you've
got Corel draw or another method of converting postscript you are in
business.
It may even drive your printer directly <- doubtful. A lot of people don't
like
it because it's dos based. It runs fine from win95 with fair mouse support.
It's very easy and fast once you get the hang of it. Create as many libs
as you wish, unlimited pads and board size. It comes with a horrible color
scheme. Change it immediately. You cannot preview the parts, you have
to know what they are. That is a drag and the only real down side I
know of. I made a print out for reference.
I posted a link not too long ago. Just do a search for "download easytrax".
You may have to look a while but get the word formatted docs with the
index.
Then have it printed and spiral bound at a copy shop. There are also a
number of quick start docs that are very good.
This might be good information to put on someone's link page.
