Wow! A friend and I were talking about the same sort of thing the other
day. An old Commodore 64 computer will talk from its SID chip using a
simple command from Commodore BASIC, with lots of different voice
parameters. Sorry, though, it's been so long that I've forgotten the actual
commands to use.
