Switched cap filter

Lately someone brought up the question of designing a "bank" of
pass-band filters around only
one IC and switching caps.

I've been also thinking of something similar (especially for a vocoder),
and I wonder if the
MAX260 chips serie could be used for that purpose...
Datasheet available at
http://209.1.238.250/arpdf/1488.pdf

According to the datasheets, it's quite easy to build a 4 pole PBF, and
change its central freq
without any influence on other parameters (Q, bandwidth).
The idea, of course, is to use a microcontroller to drive the MAX chip.
The main question seems to be : is it possible to do some time
multiplex, and change values for
the central freq (50 or 100 times per sec, for instance) and still
obtain usable output signal to be
fed into a low-pass and rectifier...

Any thought on that ?

PS : BTW, could this chip family also provide an acceptable (and cheap)
solution for the PLL
problem in the VCDO project ?
