Hello Harry and group,

Very nice job on the Scanner schemo, sir. You said that your first choice as
a 2164 alternative would be a CA3280, and your second choice an LM13700. Why
is this? Have you done some testing that indicates better audio quality from
the 3280? The reason I ask is because it appears that the 3280 is not very
easy to purchase these days, but the 13700 seems to be available from just
about any supplier. Please correct me if you have found otherwise, because I
also like 3280's, but I've had trouble finding places to buy them.

It's unfortunate that all of the best VCA chips made these days (SSM,
THATcorp, etc.) only have exponential control inputs, isn't it? Those SSM
2018t's are very nice parts for audio use, as are the THAT 2180/2181's.

Roy,

Do you have some kind of mechanism by which we can keep these project
discussions off the general Synth-DIY list, and just among those definitely
interested in the project? I think it would be best if we did this, at least
until the project takes on a more definite shape. If this is possible,
please inform us how to address our mail.

Best regards,
Michael Bacich
