hello and welcome, its not just analogue, its mostly DIY, which 
usually moves around analogue as its not easy to make a digital synth 
from scratch.

yep, but even on a lot of top quality analog synths you can't get this 
kinda control, but yes with a VA synth you should be able to.

why do you want emulate it? why not make one?
as for modifying the VA synths, erk, you'd need to be a good 
programmer and an expert in analogue synthesis algorythms..

Its like any synth, after a few days of playing with it you find what 
you can't do, play with it for a while longer couple of weeks and you 
find what you CAN do....
That said, Im sure that many many reviewers are, shall we say, enticed 
to give a good review...
