VCDO / RC4151

Tom and list,

Really it was just my $.02 - I would really love to see somebody else build
up some PCB's, especially a nice VCO. I can't really do anymore PCB design
in the near future, for several reasons. My easytrax hard disk is in some PC
in the garage, I work too much, and someday (someday!) I'd actually like to
sit down in front of my machines and make some noises, even recording them
on some kind of media. This DIY stuff is like a disease to me.... when I am
away from my workebench for days at a time I start to literally think myself
to sleep each night about what next to solder.

I've often thought of how nice it would be for somebody to offer a line of
PCB's, one for each standard module and a few exotic ones too. Like a full
VCO (all waveforms and features), a 4-pole VCF, a VCADSR, stuff like that. I
have wondered how the actual purchasing and manufacturing would take place -
design a large PCB with one of each module, to be cut into pieces before
sale? If you sold the same number of each, this would be OK, else you may
tie up money in unsold PCBs. Or, make several large PCBs, each with multiple
modules of the same type on it, to be cut into pieces before sale?

Anyway I would encourage others to offer PCB's - if there were a large
selection, I would certainly be buying them left and right. I think it would
really stimulate the DIY economy!

- Gene
