I propose the following DIY standard (oh yeah, I promised not to use that word
again, didn'i) DIY recommended procedure...

1) The man (formerly known as DR) MOOG shall have his name pronounced Moh-g
(rhymes with rogue, Because we (list members)all know better...

2) The Analog Music Synthesizer (layman's generic term) MOOG shall be
henceforth pronounced Moo (cow goes..) G. Because they (radio listeners) don't
know better...

Any Questions???

Since I bought my first Minimoog in 1974, I've always known it was correctly
pronounced "Moh-g", with a long O. Nevertheless, I always pronounce it
Moo-g, and will continue to do so, simply because that is how the name of
something that makes *that* sound should be pronounced. The Moog shock
absorbers, or that baseball player, Andy Moog - those should be pronounced
"Moh-g", but we're talking about a synthesizer here, folks. Synthesizers
don't go "Moh-g", they go "Mooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooog!"

Apologies do the illustrious Dr. Whatshisname, of course.
