I used the Schaeffer Apparatabau Front Panel design software to do a
preliminary layout for a FracRak-compatible front panel for the
Interpolating Scanner. The file is on my FTP site,
ftp://ftp./technotoys.com/pub/DIY/Scanner.fpd. There is also a GIF version
at ftp://ftp./technotoys.com/pub/DIY/Scanner.gif.
This fits nicely into a 5-space FracRak module; two would fill a FracRak.
A quick description:
The row of holes along the bottom are for jacks, the row above that is for
LEDs. The large holes on the left are for pots, the two smaller holes to
the left of those are jacks as well. DC is a switch, Output is of course a
jack. I used 0.25" holes for the jacks, for 3.5mm jacks, but they are
spaced such that they should work for 1/4" jacks as well, if reamed out.
The LED holes are probably too big; I need to check some dimensions in the
Mouser catalog. The slider slots are based on dimensions from the Mouser
catalog, but I need to double-check those because the don't look right.
Comments?
Also, if anyone is familiar with the Front Panel software and could share
some tips, I'd be obliged. (I'm using the beta 2.0 version). I'd like to
add tic marks around the knobs, but I can't see a straightforward way to do
that. Also, the program won't give me a price quote; I do get a message box
full of German text, but there are no numbers in it.
