SY series fm Synths:
SY77
SY99
TG77
the 99 lets you use PCM data (raw samples) as carriers or operators ... way
to much fun.

Hello all ...
Since there seems to be conflicting info on Yamaha's FM synths, here's
the deal: (at least as far as my memory serves)
DX-1 = 2 DX-7's in one HUGE case with lots of bells & whistles
DX-5 = 2 DX-7's in 1 case, not so many bells & whistles
DX-7 I = the original DX - 6 operator, 12 bit / velocity / aftertouch
DX-9 = 4 operator, no velocity / aftertouch
DX-11 = 4 operator (w/ 8 waveforms a 'la TX81z), w / velocity /
aftertouch (I think...)
DX-21 = 4 operator, velocity / aftertouch
DX-7 IIs = 16 bit DX7 w/ UNISON and performance memories
DX-7 IId = 2 DX7 II's in 1 case
DX7 IIfd = 2 DX-7 II's in a case + floppy drive / sequencer
DX-100 = 4 operator strap on board w/ mini keys no velocity /
aftertouch.
TX-7 = Module of the DX-7
TX-802 = Module of the DX-7 on steroids,... :) Performance setups,
etc...
TX-816 = 6 DX-7's in a rack (128 voice polyphony!!)
TX-814 = 4 DX-7's in a rack
TX-812 = 2 DX-7's in a rack
TX-81z = advanced 4 operator / 8 waveform multitimbral rackmount
V-50 = TX-81z + sequencer + effects + drums + disk drive + keyboard
WHEW! I think thats all you EVER wanted to know about Yamaha's FM
synths,
(but were afraid to ask...) %^P
