Hall-Effect Volume/CV Pedals

Every time there is a discussion of control pedals
I think back to a fender pedal I've only seen in
catalogs. Not only did it have the standard up/down,
but you could twist or rotate it left/right, a sort
of a joystick for feet. 

It seems so useful I've considered trying to build
one out of wood :-). I thought of using those bearings
you can buy for lazy susans.
