Embedded board for synth project

I came across this board and looks like it would
be fun to hack for a synth project:

 16MHz 68EZ328 DragonBall Microcontroller 
 4Meg FLASH ROM and 8Meg DRAM 
 18 General Purpose I/O pins (or between 8 and 11 if you use it with a graphic LCD panel). 
 Will directly drive a monochrome LCD panel up to QVGA resolution (320x240) 
 10Base-T Ethernet 
 RS-232 Serial 
 High speed (1Mbit/sec) I2C or SPI 3 wire serial 
 3.3Volt low power device. When idle, draws only microamps. 

It only costs $150, fits the SIMM form factor and it runs Linux!
Could be just the ticket for MIDI over ethernet.

The big advantage is that you can program in your favorite
high level language.
