Well, for classical string playing, the ADSR-key trigger-velocity comcept is a lousy compromise at best. Utilizing aftertouch gets you closer, but usually software and hardware support for aftertouch is half-hearted at best.

Yes, Registred Parameter Numbers (RPN) they are called, I think. They have both LSB and MSB My JV-1080 use them to set the bend range, for some reason. I don't remember, maybe there are Unregistered Parameter Numbers with 14 bit values too. Anybody?
