all I was saying here, is that a simple (eg rectangular) envelope can be
made more 
interesting if fed into a resonant filter having a very low frequency
setting, eg
if the filter is set at 3Hz for example, the pulse will set off a decaying
ripple 
at this freq.
And similarly, even a simple R and C lag processor will turn the pulse into
somethng more suitable.
Fertile grounds for experiment, certainly.
