Ideal VCO for mass production (long)

Well here's my 2 cents worth. I am a new list member but I do own an old alalog synth ( Arp2600 ). I am not the EE type nor do I have a solid understanding of analog synthysis. I would however like to be able to purchase ready made pcb's as that is the main reason I do not build more. Getting the pcb is just a pain and wireing up a perfboard gets to frustrating for me. With my skill level in mind...

I think you should build a filter first. I think it would appeal to a wider user base. Everyone likes filters. Even the all digital synth players. If I put an old sound module in post for sale. People always ask. What kind of filters does it have? The sampler community are very aware of filter performance. Check out the Akai and Emu news list. It seems that most people on this list already have VCO's and that they might not want your product simply because they want to build "something different" .

I just think that your audience ( synth-diy ) would be better served by "middle of the chain" products rather than one that represents the "beginning".

Maybe I am missing something but I have always liked the fat sounds that come from Moog. I was never able to get them from the Arp. I always understood it to be the filters. So, like many others I have the VCO's but would like to have the filters.
