Ideal VCO for mass production

OK, I'm going to hit the nail on the head and get started, as all this
talk on JH's Interpolating Scanner has got people interested in mass
production (to an extent anyway). I have been talking about my meanderings
with getting something off the ground for commercial sale, and I think the
first thing i would like to put out is a decent VCO. Tom G has been very
good
to all of us with his efforts, and with his permission, I would like to
put one of his VCO's into commmercial production. But i would like some
input from fellow DIYers on what they would like to see in the VCO, and if
anyone else has something better to offer. (i am really not fussed on who
designs what, but so long as it performs well, and the person responsible
for its design doesn't mind some sort of royalty for their effort).

For those of you that haven't seen it, take a look at Tom G's page:
www.mindspring.com/~vco and take a look at the cookbook page..

As far as enclosures go, i think the Fracrack is the way to go, but i am
unsure of how to get decent quantities into australia at a reasonable
price. Anyone know of a simular (but compatable) product that is available
in australia?

With my limited budget (and time, because of study), i am prepared to
invest $1000 into developing each module (VCO to start off with, then
others to follow). This is something i wish to complement other small-time
manufacturers like Blacet and MOTM, I don't want to take away their
business (not that that is likely, as i assume the demand for modular gear
is still quite high!)

I've got zillions of ideas for products but no time! (and not much money).
So send me your ideas, designs, requests, and i'll risk something for all
of us.

L8r DIYers,

bud
