ODP: A slight idea for continuous harmonics generator?

It's a nice idea...
I also thought about something like that using Tchebyshev's polynominals
but i gave up. This is why:
x^2 function for example makes second harmonic only from sine signal.
any other will get harmonics too, but it won't be only second if any.
I tried also some polynominal waveshaping with DSP (up to x^5),
and the sounds it made was horrible.
