Hello,

This is the way to make _every_ vocoder sound better. The "better" the sound
of the voice, the better is the sound if the vocoder. If you want to test a
vocoder, you have to check it with a professional FM-radio voice. If you have
a news-only radio station, you will get a perfect processed voice most of the
time.

I use for my vocoder (in order) a deesser, compressor (2:1 ratio), good full-
parametric EQ or 15-band graphic EQ, compressor (8:1 ratio or higher),
noisegate (with -20 dB feedthrough). The noisegate feeds the analysisinput.
The sidechain of the gate is fed with the Signal from the output of the
first(!) compressor. The gate is linked with a second noisegate which opens
the vocoder output only if there is a real voice input.

Gruss,
