wasn't dangerous enough?
Because we can have electric kettles that boil water really fast:-)
I had an amplifier the other day to repair that had a US transformer fitted.
There wasn't much left of the power transistors!! The wierd thing is that it
had a UK plug fitted and came complete with a forged CE marking sticker.
Frightning.

And some of the islands actually have 95V, and don't forget the 10 percent
tolerance as well. A real test for switch modes I can tell you. The peak
current through the rectifiers is something frightning. Makes a conditioner
really essential.
