I have heard of folks using 8 track tape stock, something about
the backing being formulated for multiple passes over tape guides.
I have used Ampex 456 to reload my echoplex tape delay, no problems,
but of course this is a different unit and must have a different loop path,
etc. than
the Roland unit.
good luck,
Jeff
