pitch shifting....the analog way???

It is possible, was done with a tape recorder and rotating heads,
could time stretch as well as pitch shift, but of course with lots of
artefacts. The name of the machine was Temphon, I think. In the 50's.
Maybe one could try BBDs, but this will be noisy.
WHat's the advantage of analog here?
Better get a used LXP5, this even has midi control.

If you mean octaver pedals, that's a competely different thing, a kind
of waveshaping (squaring) makes components with double frequency,
but in general broadband signals (like voice or music) will only
sound distorted.
