I don't know whether a phase locked loop could be used as a 
pitch extractor in this context.... but, if it could, then by
using a oct/v oscillator in the vco part of the pll, you can 
then just pull the cv off it, and you have your oct/v cv.

paul perry melbourne australia wondering why packets of 
instant noodles have potassium carbonate as an ingredient..
surely it costs more than sodium carbonate?
