Rb just has to be small compared to the buffer's input impedance. If a

If a FET buffer is used, the current is *very* small.
AFAIK the Akai wind controllers also use these "tap" switches instead of
mechanical switches.
Never tested a 9V block battery with your tongue? ===:-)
