I don't know what boxes you are talking about. My BC-input belongs to a
DX-11 synth. The BC controller information (controller 2) can be routed
independently from that of the modwheel (controller 1) to several -not
all the same as for MW- modulation sensitive made parameters (such as the
envelope bias per operator). If your synth box reacts like giving some
extra modulation source of the same parameter, the routing of controller
1 and 2 are both set to a lfo, but this lfo's sensitivity is set to
different values for BC / MW. But you are free too choose an other
parameter to be influenced by the BC.
Same story must apply to a TX81Z, DX21/27/100, that are compatible with
the DX11- with some differences that do not affect the essential
possibilities of the use of BC-info.

Is this safe to do? I really are almost a witnit on electronics, reading
most of your messages with touting ears all the time.
This safety item is my main concern. When something gets damaged inside
the DX11 I am in sever financial problems. Building some
controller-device that acts like a pot is not the biggest problem.
To main result would be to have another controller on my "master
keyboard" that can be routed to soundparameters within boxes like the
EVS-1, be it or not transformed by intermediate software.
