I have finished my ASM1-design state variable filter.  Some pictures are

Thanks also to the list for answering my questions.  I learned an
important lesson while making this one - deflux the board!  I can see
you veterans out there rolling your eyes and shouting "I told you so!" 
:-)

I have gotten away with not defluxing in the past but it bit me this
time.  Oh well, lesson learned.
