Wasps, DCOs, OSCs and VCDOs

how about a square wave VCO. devided down. pitch selected by analog switches
(from a a/d or midi maybe?) and sent to a digisound type wave table selector
EPROM. the thing is, you send a higher frequency and you get waveforms. you
can still moulate the VCO from LFOs and Envelopes, but you have the devide
down thing going. I have no idea how you slew then though. Is this a dumb
idea? don't be afraid to say it.
