   With the wavetable ideas I'm mainly interested in the phase-
   accumulating oscillator idea whereby the sampling replay
   rate is constant. This is usually achieved with a pitch register/
   adder/accumulator arrangement which is clocked at a constant
   rate. This system can be easily multiplexed so that a polyphonic
   generator csn be produced.

That's the easy part.  How about aliasing of the stored waveform at
higher frequencies?

   I have this silly idea of using DSP as a VCO. Here's how:

   ADC (or maybe few ADCs) is the voltage input.
   DSP runs few phase-accumulating DCOs with lookup tables
   and, say 16 DACs produce nice waves
