I also extend my apologies for sending to the whole list BUT, this may be
of interest to more than one.

Samplevision by Turtle Beach has indeed been out of production and
unavailable for quite some time. I am a registered owner of both the DOS
version 1.0, 2.0 and windows versions. DOS version 1.0 is crap and has
long since hit the trach can. However, both DOS 2.0 and the Windows
versions are SUPER programs that support SDS along with MANY samplers that
were not SDS compliant like the DSS-1, X-7000 and many more.

The DOS version supports ALL the old ones. But, when the windows version
came out, they dropped off a few of the older ones rather than write the
drivers that would probably not get used.

I will not pirate software. However, since BOTH of these programs are out
of print and the author has refused to sell more or support the existing
copies, I would be happy to copy either for anyone on this list that has a
need for them. They have some quirks:

The DOS version will NOT NOT NOT run in ANY windows environment. It will
not run from a DOS prompt in Win 95. I have it installed on a 486 machine
with DOS 6.22. However, it will run on ANY DOS machine with 640K ram. I
used to run it on an XT, although at least a 286 is best.
This program MUST MUST MUST have a true MPU-401. No sound card interface
will work. BTW, I have a brand new MPU-401 in the box never installed I
would like to sell.

The Windows version will run on SOME sound cards. I have it installed on
my Pentium with the Ensoniq sound card used by Gateway and it runs fine on
that card. It will also run on a MPU-401. The only disadvantage of the
windows version is that it does not have near as many drivers for the old
samplers as the DOS version (Sorry, no list right here in front of me).

If anyone has any particular questions or interest in the programs, you can
contact me.
