I checked it, yes @ 15V the chip gets warm, @9V I couldn't feel much
heating.  I've now changed the circuit: the inverters run with variable
voltage (2..9V and GND), the otas with +-15. So it's easy to use a ground
referenced expo converter (ie. one pnp-base to ground), this wouldn't work
with lowest potential = GND at the otas, no voltage left for the pnp to
make a current.  I used a LF411 and a CA3096 for the converter. (I know
that may be overengineered, but I want to check this expo circuit for
vco use also..., and I think a low drift opamp is a good idea there)


By the way, could someone please give me a hint where to find the original
wasp schematic on the web?
