Being an ugly American I dunno Hameg - but I do know Tek. I once
bought a new (cheap) scope cause I thought it would be better than an
old "good" scope.

Boy, was I wrong. I spent $500 on that new scope (years ago) - and
then, just a few years back, bought an old Hicock that a TV repair
shop was replacing.

Even with the occasional screen blackout (caused by an aging focus
pot) and the sometimes flaky triggering, the 25 year old Hicock was
(is) a WAY better scope than the "new" Chinese cheapie. In fact, I
still have it back "home," half a continent away (I moved to
Hollywood, and I seriously doubt the old friend would survive the
trip).
