G3 - compact, efficient, less demanding

The G3 Processor is less than 1/3 the size of the Pentium II
400, and in this case smaller is faster. This according to the laws of
physics.
The G3 Processor has over twice as much Level 1 cache, giving it
more memory to shortcut through its work. The result: even greater
speed.
The G3 Processor is less demanding, consuming only a tiny
fraction (less than 15%) of the power required by a Pentium II/400.

Byte Magazine (a predominantly non-Apple magazine) ran the
benchtests on the G3 vs. the Pentium NOT APPLE. The testing done on the
processors is more than thorough. If you'd like to read exactly what was
done to each follow this link --> http://www.byte.com/bmark/bdoc.htm

The January issue of Byte Magazine declared, "The G3 also
decisively beat a 300-MHz Pentium II in the ByEmark tests... When you
look at the bottom of the line, the Power Mac G3 is a winner in price as
well."

If you would like to see the results of the Benchtests
themselves, follow this link:

Regardless of the hardware differences, I use and work on both
platforms regularly. In fact, I also use Next, Rhadsody, and the Be. I
love the BeOS! Use whatever Operating System you're most comfortable
using, use whichever one, is easiest for you to use. That last
paragraph, is my penny and a half.

use would be, "Is he friendly?" --R.M. Weiner
