edp WASP FILTER WARMUP

I build the filter too, and I found that it works and sounds really
nice.
But : the CMOS chip warms up quiet rapidly, the temperature goes
to 70-80 degree Celsius. It works for hours without failure. 
I'm sure, I used all the components that should be used, and the wiring
is OK too. 

Is that normal ? (I mean the warming up, not soldering a WASP-filter)
