yep that got your attention....sissy or not, phil pilgrims NOVAMOD for
the roland sh101 is one helluva radical sound warping design. i just
finished the entire project (minus the AR envelope, which is going in
next [and which clearly will take loads of time to install]) today, from

solderin' to drillin' to screwin' to leaning back and listening to this
thing go go go. i consider myself fairly good at this sort of thing
(modding synths) after a couple years of trial and error and i highly
doubt i could have done this correctly as a mod virgin....but then again

i have trouble tying my shoes....

so what do you get? it kind of modularizes the little greyboy: its
a "mod mod" in that you get multiple sources of filter and pwm mod
which changes the character of the machine completely. you also get
a couple new vco mod sources. and the trusty Fc voltage control. and
an external audio input (feed ANYTHING in, modulate the filter
with the pulse wave, or better yet the -2 oct pulse, and you're insane),

a cool little accent button, external LFO clock input, a very
cool lfo scalar which doubles the lfo in both directions. and more.

this mod really cements my belief that its not the number of
oscillators that counts: its how you abuse the one you've got.:)

i highly recommend this project, and i notice that phil is taking down
the
current instructions "sometime in October".....but don't worry:
he's bringing on more madness. and get over the fear of cutting up
your precious roland: these are pieces of plastic and metal. thats
all. very cool sounding pieces of plastic and metal, of course, but
especially
NOVAMODDED.
