The NTE 996 and the ECG 996 are both cross - reference manufacturer #s for
the CA3080. (2 different companies that make replacement parts for many
chips and other parts).
The CA3080 is still manufactured by quite a few companies and will be
available from just about any good electronic parts wholesale store, through
ordering. You could try: Abra; Allied; Arrow; Digi-key; Electro-sonic;
Farnell; Jameco; Mouser; (MAYBE) Radio Shack or many people online
(including myself).
