Minimoog differences

This must be the right place to ask?.

I've got a Minimoog (older) and tested several "stable" versions (higher than
10175), using the modwheel for filtermodulation on my minimoog
makes clear and nice sweeps while the later
mini's seem to be "dead" or boring when using
the modwheel for filter-modulation.

However i do get the same result with all
the later minis i've tested if i use the 'cutoff
frequency' knob instead of the mod-wheel.

Anyone that could explain if there is a difference    
with the mod-wheel or filter circuit in later
mini's , or is there another reason?.
