I use them all the time, and I like them, too. But I guess I pay too much
for
them - where do you get them cheap in Europe ?
As for being all plastic, isolation was the main reason why I chose them,
but one has to be careful with the spanner not to destroy the thread.
There's a version that can be soldered directly into the PCB, and the
6 pins of the stereo version are strong enough to hold a small (!) 
pcb only by fixing the sockets to the front (or back) panel.
