Hi Guy's
Without wishing to cause a stir!,anybody that spray's WD40 on electronic equipment must have money flowing from their rectum's!.

Firstly, slider's,rotary's and any other type moving resistive track device are lubricated by silicon grease (break a duff one open!).The
fact it may be non-conductive does not really come into it (the track does not need lubricating, carbon is pretty bloody slippery,as is nichrome wire against gold plated wiper's .They design them that way!!!)
Secondly if you give a resistive track a workout!! they will clean themselves.

What you guy's are talking about is mistreatment or fatigue of the mechanical bit's.
Don't drink ,smoke or talk to them.If they are 20 year's old for christ's sake change them!!

If you can successfuly strip and re-lube one DOW CORNING MS4 or333 grease is good gear,PLEASE!!! NOT ON THE TRACK.

Another couple of thing's i would like to address are,
WD40 is not crap ,before you use it read the can!
I have ridden motorcycles for 30 year's in the UK and during our glorious winter month's may go through a can every two week's (i ,at present, have a 10 year old HONDA that a lot of people would give serious buck's for) sorry for off topic!!!.
I work in "J" class clean room's (low) and we cannot use any spray or other airborn lubricant's whatsoever(do not believe the promotional stuff!!)

The poodle bites the poodle chew's it "FRANK"

Live long and prosper

George
