The CA3086 will usually work in most applications that call for a 3046.  It
was originally made by RCA, but is now being made by a few other chipmakers,
including Harris.  I think the 3046 is the same, except it has slightly better
specs.  Minimoogs use 3046's in their VCO's, but I have used 3086's as
replacements with no problems whatsoever.
