On the subject of carbide drills, there used to be someone advertising in
Nuts@&Volts magazine selling 2nd hand carbide drills (on the big automatic
drillers, all the drills are changed at a fixed time, and have plenty of life
left for people like us). i had to cancel my US subs (poverty) but they are 
probably still there.... great mag & after I stopped subbing they started
doing all this stuff on diy effects!
