Memory hacking

I' ve been thinking about getting a Boos DR-202 ("Doctor Groove") to keep
me company beside my bed and for trips to my parent's houses (one in
Canada, the other in Mexico-I live in the Midwest US). My little sister's
boyfriend has one and it's a lot of fun (so *cute*), but there is one
thing, 400 preset patterns and only 100 user patterns.
Does any one here have any experience hacking past the copy protect on any
sort of machine. I don't have the nessecary technical data in front of me,
so I couldn't tell you memory type or even guess at the architecture of
this thing.
If I get the Boss SP 202 (still more fun) I can have a whole little
backpack portable studio. Maybe then I could finally bear to leave my
house/studio and visit Europe!
