I would also reccommend the Antique Sound series. A friend has built the
AQ1002, and the sound is great for the price. 

After that's tackled, jump over to <http://www.atma-sphere.com> and have a
look at the M-60 MK.II OTL kit. Now what's THAT about, huh? 

I've got a pair of the M-60 Mk.IIs. They are not to be argued with.
