 What or who is Moogerfooger?

I have been thinking about building a barberpole phaser. The only
information I've been able to dig up are some old advertisements
showing the model 8101 Bode Barberpole Phaser, and Bode's
patent. A few articles I have found talk about the phaser, but
I've seen nothing else. Do you know how many were produced?
Would 'Moogerfooger' build such a thing?

don.
