RE sonic MAX (an old thread)

According to BBE  the Sonic Max splits the incoming audio in to three   
bands <150Hz, 150-1k2Hz and>1k2Hz.  The low band is delayed by circa   
2.5mS.  Whilst the Mid band is delayed by 0.5mS and the high band is the   
delay reference.  The delay is the group delay of the filters used.

The patent reference on the back of my sonic max is US 4,482,866 (get it   
free from the IBM patent server.

It is very easy to over use the sonic max but it all comes down to taste.
